Health & Wellness
Today’s retirees tend to take a more progressive approach to their health. At Montgomery Place, residents create and design our programs and activities. They create the culture and lifestyle that define the community.
This is a community that stays in touch with changing ideas, recognizing that health and wellness are at the forefront of retirement living. That’s why we’ve adopted a philosophy of person-centered wellness that takes into account each person’s physical, intellectual and spiritual health.
Perhaps the most exciting addition to Montgomery Place’s wellness program is the Dr. Theodore N. and Marjorie Pullman Wellness Center. Named in honor of two of Hyde Park’s most revered personages, the wellness center offers a variety of activities, including water and low-impact cardiovascular aerobics, and balance enhancement. There’s also a fitness room with state-of-the-art equipment, spa and massage services, and an indoor heated pool that can be activated for continuous swimming. Next door is our café/library, a bright and inviting space where neighbors and friends can meet to share the news of the day over a cup of fresh-brewed coffee, grab a light snack after a workout or compete on our Wii gaming system.
As a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), Montgomery Place provides residential apartments for independent living; Hype Park Home Care services for those who need just a little help to remain in their current home; assisted living in our Catered Living Pavilion for those who can benefit from additional day-to-day support; skilled care in our Medicare certified Health Care Pavilion, which is overseen by Board-certified Geriatricians from the nearby University of Chicago Medical Center.
